What does KidsFirst do?
Child abuse happens everywhere, even in our community. In 2008, there were over 30,000 cases of abuse in the 4-county Sacramento Region. This is unacceptable.
What many people don't realize is that child abuse is 100% preventable.
We seek out innovative programs and invest only in those proven to keep children safe from harm. We provide:
- Family counseling
- Healing therapy for child victims of abuse and neglect
- Enrollment of children in low/no-cost health insurance
- After-school activities for kids
- Parent education, training and coaching
- Links to countless community resources
KidsFirst has provided services to over 12,000 children and families in the past 12 months.
